Effective August 27, 2026
1. Acceptance
By installing or using Personal Document Vault, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Additional Microsoft Store terms may also apply to your acquisition and installation of the app.
2. License and permitted use
Subject to these terms and applicable Store licensing rules, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Personal Document Vault for personal or internal household document organization on compatible Windows devices.
You may not misuse the app, attempt to bypass licensing or security controls, distribute unauthorized copies, use it to violate another person’s rights, or use it for unlawful activity.
3. Your documents and responsibilities
You retain responsibility for the files and information you place in the vault. You must have the right to store them and must use appropriate care with sensitive records. You are responsible for your vault password, recovery material, Windows account, exports, and backups.
Personal Document Vault is an organizational tool, not a certified records repository, identity service, legal archive, or substitute for professional advice. Verify dates and details before relying on reminders.
4. Privacy
The app is designed for local encrypted storage. The separate Privacy Policy explains how data is handled. Your use of Microsoft Store, Windows, and any third-party backup destination is also subject to those providers’ terms and policies.
5. Updates and availability
Features, supported formats, system requirements, and Store availability may change. Updates may be provided to improve security, compatibility, or functionality. Maintaining a supported Windows environment and installing important updates is your responsibility.
6. Intellectual property
The app, branding, interface, documentation, and related materials are protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership of the app or grant rights beyond the limited license above. Your documents remain yours.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, absolute security, fitness for a particular purpose, or compatibility with every file. Rights that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, credentials, access, profits, or business arising from use of or inability to use the app. Always maintain appropriate backups of important records.
9. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time. Your license may end if you materially violate these terms. Before uninstalling, export or back up anything you need; removing the app or its data may make the local vault unavailable.
10. Changes and contact
These terms may be updated when the app or applicable requirements change. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. For support or terms questions, use the protected support form.
